Executive Business Leadership: Effective, Sustainable, Resilient
"Entrepreneurial, innovative, and effective operations leadership your organization can rely on."
Cory is an award-winning entrepreneurial operations executive and professor who leads development and reliability support for $2.3B in revenue activities for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Technology organizations. To create effective, sustainable and resilient businesses, he leverages innovative applied engineering concepts with the formidable skills of a big firm financial analyst, an economist's predictive worldview, conscientious environmental stewardship, and the practical, no-nonsense know-how of his entrepreneurial background.
As the 2020/2021 recipient of the prestigious Dean's Merit Scholarship at Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business, Cory earned the acclaim from the Global Top 10 graduate school. In 2021, he formulated a linear programming model to predict COVID-19's risk to construction operations 30/60/90/120 days in advance and then crafted a response/ resiliency plan to stay ahead of competitors. The model's accuracy proved groundbreaking, and he is perfecting the resiliency model as a Doctoral candidate at Southern Connecticut State University.
Cory continues to help companies realize greater financial success through venture financing while reaching their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Sustainability initiatives.
From his blue-collar, inner-city roots to visionary executive, Cory repeatedly defies the odds of achieving success. He was one of the youngest in his state and among the first African Americans to earn master-level licenses as an Unlimited Electrical Contractor and Electrical Building Official. As he says, "When other people say 'it can't be done' and quit, I'm just getting started."
Additionally, he has helped organizational leaders understand how to "level the playing field" for other underrepresented but highly qualified executive candidates who would otherwise feel overlooked or boxed out.
When he is not in the office, Cory applies his knowledge as an adjunct professor at Central Connecticut State University, bringing in the next generation of business leaders.
Cory is a duly licensed master electrical contractor with rigorous certification in technology management and applied engineering for MEP/FP, HVACR, Renewable Technologies, Mechatronic & Automated Systems, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Maintenance Reliability Operations, and Facilities Management. He is a Certified Technology Manager through the Association of Technology Managers and Applied Engineers (ATMAE).
As an accomplished financial manager, Cory's career includes developing and controlling over $700MM in OPEX/CAPEX budgets while accountable for generating and supporting $2.3B (and counting) in revenue activities. He has successfully integrated sustainable business practices into all types of organizations.
As a licensed professional educator in the STEM and CTE fields, Cory trains business leaders, engineers, and contractors in the latest technologies, codes, scalable growth, ethical practices, econometrics, and competitive game theory.
As an innovator, Cory is the author of a crisis risk model that accurately predicted pandemic impact on operations. The study is now under peer review at two Ivy League business schools.
As a diversity engineer, Cory is a recognized champion for providing equal growth opportunity and equal compensation for historically disadvantaged and underrepresented groups.
